Authority of Freeport Area of Bataan

The Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) is an aggregation of freeport and economic zones in the province of Bataan, established under RA 9728 as amended by RA 11453. The FAB’s main zone, located in Mariveles, Bataan, is a 1, 691.55-hectare special economic zone and freeport, while it’s expansion zones are located all over Bataan. These zones are being governed by the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), a dedicated government agency tasked with managing and supervising said zones. The AFAB is empowered to declare expansion zones anywhere within the province of Bataan subject to the approval of the local government unit concerned, making it able to adopt to the needs of investors, and promote equal and equitable growth within the whole province.
